Rashford Considers Manchester United Future

Marcus Rashford has voiced is unhappiness with lack of game time under Ralf Rangnick, considering his future at Manchester United.

Reports by newsmen has it that the England striker wants clarity over his future.

The 24-year-old, who has a contract with United until 2023 with the option to extend for a further year, has started just two of United's last 11 Premier League matches.

He however, started in Champions League last-16 first leg at Atletico Madrid and FA Cup ties against Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.

Rashford also missed the Manchester derby defeat yesterday due to some injuries.

He has spent his entire career at United, but appears to have now fallen behind 19-year-old Anthony Elanga in the depth chart.

Rashford last scored for United in January 22 since playing against West Ham and only twice since the end of October.

Manchester United Performance in derby leaves Scholes doubtful about Rangnick

Former Manchester United player, Paul Scholes, has questioned the hiring of Ralf Rangnick as Manchester United interim manager after the humiliating 4-1 derby defeat yesterday.

The brilliant Kevin De Bruyne and resilient Riyad Mahrez got two goals apiece at the Etihad Stadium, as Manchester City restored their lead at the Premier League summit to six points over Liverpool.

Manchester United were without Cristiano Ronaldo due to a hip injury  and started the game on a good note with a 22nd-minute equaliser by Jadon Sancho, however it was one-way traffic as Rangnick suffered only his second Premier League defeat in 14 matches.

Despite that record, Scholes cannot get past Rangnick's lack of recent experience in coaching, having only actually been in charge of a team for two of the previous 10 seasons, instead spending much of his time as a sporting director.

It would be recalled that Rangnick was hired as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's replacement until the end of the season, at which point he will move into a consultancy role.

The move was initially widely praised as it seemed to suggest United were looking to establish an on-field identity, however, Scholes is struggling to see the reasoning behind hiring him as the interim manager.

Scholes is certain that their change in fortunes at the back is a red herring, and the data seems to back him up to a certain degree.

David de Gea's saves since Rangnick's arrival have accounted for the prevention of six goals the average goalkeeper would not be expected to prevent, second only to Jose Sa (6.1).
